Our lovely natural setting of Lyrebird Preschool
Like the song says, we truly are ‘a home among the gum trees…’ just without the sheep or two but the kangaroos have been known to visit!
Our Space
Lyrebird Preschool is located at 101 Jervis Street, East Nowra, set on shady, landscaped and well-equipped 2080m2 grounds with security fencing all around. We overlook the sporting fields and Lyrebird Park, with easy access from Kalandar Street.
We strive to make Lyrebird happy, healthy and helpful for all our young learners and be affordable for all with Our Fees.

Plenty of outdoor play areas
Our large, natural outdoor areas are fun, safe and well-landscaped
Play areas dedicated to having a natural setting that fosters learning and exploration driven by their own interests and imaginations.
Children who have opportunities to play in natural settings are typically healthier, happier and more likely to appreciate the natural world around them.

Engaging indoor play areas
Our indoor areas are fun, clean and well-equipped
Indoor and outdoor environments support all aspects of children’s learning and invite conversations between children, early childhood educators, families and the broader community. They promote opportunities for sustained shared thinking and collaborative learning (EYLF p16)
Our focus is to make it more like a home, so we have lots of smaller spaces, a mix of furnishings with nick-nacks, and framed family photos and framed artworks on the walls, and collections of interesting objects on benches and surfaces to investigate.
A rich and varied environment supports children’s learning and development. It gives them the confidence to explore and learn in a secure and safe, yet challenging, indoor and outdoor space. (Hodman, 2011).
